Baby # 2!!!!

My Husband and I have been trying lately to have another child, and we didnt know if it was possible from just having the surgery that I did almost two months ago.

Pregnancy tests that I have taken this past month kept coming up no,so I was a little dissapointed everytime I took one and it said negative. I was getting annoyed and I kept thinking, why take one, when its going to say NO. That was the thought pressed into my mind. I thought I would have to go to the dr to have him tell me I am,like I had to when I pregnant with Emma.

I have been really tired and hungry lately and I got fed up thinking it was PMS and not pregnancy symptoms and I thought not to take anymore tests.

When my Husband was asleep the other day,I decided to take Emma for a walk and get some fresh air and go to the store. I had to get some things before we went to the holiday ball in Seoul. I had a hunch and I thought for a moment and I decided to by a pregnancy test because I had a small feeling inside of me. I thought why not, just to see and get my last answer and then I wouldn't take anymore. I purchased a EPT and took it thinking I was going to get the asnwer that I always got. But I was wrong it came up positive!!!!

Our prayers and wishes were answered. We were blessed with the chance to have another child so soon. I never expected to be able to get pregnant right away we thought we would have to keep trying.

My due date is around July or August of 2010. I will let you all know.

Long time no write

I haven't been on here much lately. I get on,but I read other peoples blogs. I thought it would be time for a update.

As some of you know I had Emergency Surgery a month ago to remove a ovarian cyst that burst in the middle of the night. It tore my right ovarian wall open causing me to bleed internally. Hence both reasons why I woke up in pain the morning of October 23rd.

We thought I was pregnant, and if you are a girl you would know the reason why. Tired alot, eating, swelling abdomen. Well that was all caused by the 29mm cyst .It was leaking as they could tell slowly into my abdomen for three weeks. They thought at first I might have had apendecitis, because when I had a ultrasound,it showed a sac of fluid and stringy membranes. They did the surgery originally as laproscope( reason why I have three incissions) and found that the sac of fluid was blood, they cleaned it out, traced it back to the source, and as I said,The ovarian cyst. So I was not pregnant. They cut the cyst out and cauterized the ovary shut.

I had to have the surgery in a KOREAN HOSPITAL. Never will I again have that done,I will travel the 4 hours to Seoul to the 121 Military Hospital, then having surery again at Dongsan Hospital again. They are not really pain managers.Someone told me that and I didnt know what they really were talking about, until I woke up. I remember waking up screaming cause my whole abdomen was on fire. I have never had to experience anything like that in my life. Us American's are used to the pain meds we are given in our IV's before we wake up. There was a tube in my stomach for the three days I was in there and the dr,whom I swear I would have hit for this- He yanked up on the tube that was draining the excess blood and fluid from the abdomen,to clip the stitches and pull the tube out. I did not and I repeat DID NOT like that dr. His exact words to me when I was crying cause I was in pain" Oh your not in pain"

Long story short, they suck and I am ok now. As for being able to have kids,i don't know yet.

So that is what happened with me in the Hospital just in case anyone wanted to know.

Sean and I and Emma are doing ok. Emma is crawling and getting into everything,we have to keep things put up and she noticed our Christmas Tree, thankfully the ornaments are up off the bottom limbs. She likes the tre skirt the most. She is still teething, again, she has two small teeth on the bottom still coming up, I wish they were already up,I dont like seeing her mad or cranky, that and baby teeth are cute. It is really cold here already. It takes forever for our apartment to heat up,which sucks. Were just going to go and buy a heater, one that you plug in and ocilates. I just don't want Emma getting cold. But I bundle her up good at night.

Well that is all for right now. BYE!

Life and all its newness

So it has been a while since I last got on and wrote about my life and what has been going on.

I am now in Daegu South Korea with my Husband and Daughter. I have been here since the 6th of September. I love it. We went down to downtown the other day and looked around and had dinner with a friend. Downtown looks like the Las Vegas strip but bigger and better. The food is great here.

They recycle everything here from paper, plastic, carboard and food. Yeah I know it sounds gross, but there isnt enough room in this country for landfills, and what they dont recycle they burn somehow. If you dont seperate your trash here, you can get up too and 10,00 WON fine. That is like 500 dollars in American money.

Sean and I have been married a year now,on September 13th was our 1 year anniversary. Seems like we just got married and now it has been a year. I love him and emma both. I dont know what I would do without those two, they mean the world to me and I cant imagine life without them now.

Im not crazy

I don't know why it is. But whenever my mother decides to call and talk to us( my sister and I) it never is really a good conversation on the phone. She either has a tendency to bring up the past or say something offensive. She can never update us on something new or how she is. She either talks about the past involving my dad and saying " Oh well he left me" ETC. It gets boring,I wanna talk to my mom as an adult and not have a childl like conversation.

She said something to me yesterday on the phone that was offensive to me. So I am going to get and stress my point across. She told me yesterday" Your crazy for wanting to move over to Korea with North Korea being the way they are, I know you miss your Husband but your still crazy". Ok hello,if I wasn't able to move over there, the military wouldn't have sent me all the paper work over to fill out and send back, saying I can move over there. Apparently it isn't that bad,so I can go. They wouldn't put someone in danger and exspecially a mother with a new baby.

I wish that my mom would just at least have a conversation with me that doesn't invole one person always getting pissed off

Finalization

I was talking to my Husband today on the phone over at my mother in laws house. My cell phone doesn't so he called me on hers. I found something out. All the paper work that I sent over to korea only needs three more signatures until it is finalized and approved for Emma and I to move over there. I can't wait,im so excited, that means one more less day until I can see the love of my life. :D

Moving

So I finally got all the paper work filled out and sent so I can finally move over to Korea to be with my Husband. What made me wait a while to do it was the fact that I had to wait Emma's Social Securty card to come in.

Here is one thing that you need to know about the Military. If you're in the Military
,wanna go into the Military, married someone in the Military,or had a child that is in the Military because their mom or dad is in. That it involes a lot of paper work filled out and sent, with a lot of things described in it,every little detail of your life. You send it to a lot of people to see and you wait a long time for it to come back saying you can move. Yeah I know that is A LOT (Indulge in my humor)

As I was saying,I finally got it all filled out and sent,to have a lot of people to view it. So hopefully it won't take that long to view it,finalize it and give me my orders to move. Before I can do that, I need to get all my stuff packed and shiped over there once Sean signs for our house. That is the reason why it may take a month to get everything all done.

I am looking forward to being over there, but it seems like that no one understands how I feel about moving over there. I want to be over there,I have been away from my Husband for the longest time,so im looking for to finally settling down with him,in our own home and being a family. They think that just because North Korea cant figure their butt from a hole in the ground that I am going to put everything on halt. I shouldn't have to let one thing affect everything.

For one thing,I am going to be in the very very very South Korea, and two,im not going to let anyone stop me from being happy,im happy when I am with Sean, and im happy that I have Emma. But apart of me is missing, because he is half way around the world, and has been gone for 7 months. I am not going to let anything stand in my way of wanting to feel that happiness with my Husband.

Source from Parents Magazine on Pain reliefe method for infants

A professor in medical school told the practice of pediatrics is a lot like veterinary medicine. Neither animals nor babies can talk, so in order to help them, doctors need to speak with their caregivers, look for subtle physical clues, and express compassion without words.

But consider what pediatricians with even the best intentions do to babies. To greet them immediately after birth, we jab their thigh with a syringe of vitamin K. Before they leave the hospital, we prick their foot with a razorlike lancet to collect blood for screening tests. At many hospitals, doctors cut off newborn boys' foreskin without a topical anesthetic. And every few months, babies feel the antiseptic dab of alcohol, followed invariably by multiple vaccine injections. The cries of little children are the sound track of a pediatrician's life.

And that's just when kids are healthy. Fever can be a sign of meningitis in infants, so they may need a spinal tap -- usually without any anesthesia -- to rule out the serious infection. Many pediatric emergency rooms employ orderlies called "holders," whose primary job is to physically restrain struggling babies and toddlers during painful procedures like a bone-marrow biopsy. To treat deep cuts, we sometimes have to strap young children into a papooselike contraption, pinning their arms down as we carefully stitch lacerations on their face.

It's hard to imagine that doctors would ever treat older kids or adults this way. Perhaps we neglect pain in the very young not because we're heartless but because we subconsciously think that they're not yet fully human and thus are incapable of really experiencing or understanding pain. As a result, children suffer needlessly in hospitals and clinics, and even in their own home

For decades, doctors believed that babies didn't feel pain, based on flawed studies showing that sleeping infants didn't respond to light pinpricks. In fact, until the 1980s, many newborns who had heart surgery received no pain medication -- they were only given paralytic drugs that forced them to lie completely still, though fully aware, as their chests were opened.

These practices greatly disturbed Kanwaljeet Anand, MD, director of Arkansas Children's Hospital Research Institute Pain Neurobiology Laboratory, in Little Rock, who noticed babies had a rapid pulse and low blood pressure after cardiac surgery without pain control. "They appeared incredibly stressed," he recently told me. Two decades ago, Dr. Anand published a study showing that using proper anesthesia during infant heart surgery dramatically reduced deaths. His findings helped change how doctors think about neonatal pain, and today general anesthesia is standard for babies undergoing surgery.

More recent research has proven that even mild pain can have a major impact. Canadian doctors, for example, found that newborns who were circumcised without local anesthesia developed a form of post-traumatic stress disorder. Another study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association showed that newborns who received frequent blood tests would become upset as soon as they were swabbed with an alcohol wipe. And according to surveys of hospitalized kids of different ages, they reported that getting an IV caused some of their worst pain. "The science is increasingly clear that untreated pain can cause harm," says Gary A. Walco, PhD, professor of anesthesia at University of Washington School of Medicine, in Seattle. In articles for medical journals, he has argued that proper pain control for children is a basic human right. "In the overwhelming majority of cases, there is no need for kids to feel pain from medical procedures," he says.

Unfortunately, this message hasn't caught on widely enough yet. In 2006, a survey of newborn intensive care units found that doctors only checked for pain in 10 percent of newborns after major surgery, and many children received no pain medications to comfort them. Babies in intensive care had an average of 14 painful procedures per day.

If you ask any parent whether her child's doctor offers special treatment before administering immunizations, blood tests, or other procedures, you're likely to get a blank stare in response. One fascinating study found that most parents would be willing to stay an hour longer at their pediatrician's office to avoid pain for their child, and three-quarters said they'd pay $15 for any method to eliminate pain. (A third of parents would pay more than $100!)

"It's important to be an advocate for your child," says Dr. Walco. But the truth is that even parents who know about available pain-relief options don't always insist on them. Dr. Anand remembers when his own daughter was born in a Boston hospital and needed a blood test. Before pricking her foot, a nurse told him, "Don't worry, she won't feel any pain." Dr. Anand replied, "But I know that babies do feel pain." The nurse smiled at him condescendingly and said, "You're just being a dad." With that rebuke, Dr. Anand remained silent as the nurse drew the blood.

Sometimes, I think back with regret on how aggravated I've become while looking into an uncooperative toddler's ears or listening to a screaming baby. Faced with distraught children, it's easy for parents and pediatricians to get frustrated, but our own tension can send kids into a downward spiral. It's not hard, though, to do blood tests or give vaccines painlessly. No major medical breakthroughs are required, and the costs are minimal. As I've learned, you just need to prepare.

Recently, for example, an infant in my pediatric cardiology clinic needed a blood test, and her mother requested that it be as pain-free as possible. Before the appointment, as I often do, I called in a prescription for a topical anesthetic cream called EMLA (the cost at a local pharmacy was $2 per dose), and the mother applied it to her baby's arm an hour in advance of our visit. The cream gets absorbed into the skin so the prick doesn't hurt.

A few minutes before the needle stick, we gave the baby a pacifier dipped in sugar water, which is thought to promote the release of pleasure-producing endorphins in the brain. (Research has shown that sugar solutions alone eliminate needle pain in up to 80 percent of infants.) We then wrapped her in a blanket, exposed her arm, and her mother distracted her with pictures on her cell phone. Our nurse tied on a small tourniquet and drew a quarter-teaspoon of blood.

Remarkably, the baby never cried. Not only did we spare her from pain, but in some small way, I think we also enhanced their mother-child bond. Instead of feeling helpless, her mother felt empowered because she had successfully comforted her daughter.

Graduation

On May 27th 2009 at 7:00 PM I proudly graduated from Beaver Dam High School in Beaver Dam Arizona.

I earned my diploma. I am so happy. I may have gotten Married and had a baby in High School but I still earned my Degree. I am very happy. Here are some pictures from graduation

Watch your children

Why does it really have to be that bad in todays society to where you cannot have your own children play outside in their yard, without having them snatched away.

You can watch the news and hear the stories about all these little girls who have been kidnapped and killed. 5 year old girls in fact. That is WRONG,moreover heartbreaking and sad. Ever since little Caylee Anthony went missing and was found dead, there has been 4 little incidents since. It's heartbreaking to those childrens parents who have to lose their children to some sexual and child predator and murderer.

If you haven't watched the news lately. You have or haven't heard that the body of Nevaeh Buchannan was ound in ditch by a river in Michigan,Covered in cemet. Now who would do that. That child is not going to be coming back to her parents or her friends.

What a sick society!

Here is my opinion.

I think it should be considered indecent public exposure when men or guys have their pants hanging halfway down their butt. No one wants to see it.

Anit-Energy

I was in the store today grocery shopping with my grandma and we were walking down the beverage aisle where they keep the cold drink in the coolers and something caught my eye. I have noticed this whenever I walk into the store and to the fact that is has been changed around and somethings that are new have been brought in and the old products that used to sell a lot are now off the shelves.

Hot product of the population now, that young kids seem to guzzle down with no knowledge of what they are putting into their bodies are energy drinks. That is what I see.
Honestly what ever happened to getting a good nights sleep to keep you going. Instead of something that is man made and packaged in a can. What is worse is that you see mostly kids drinking them down. Do they have any clue what is in store for them down along the road if they can't kick the habit.

"Health researchers have identified a surprising new predictor for risky behavior among teenagers and young adults: the energy drink.
Super-caffeinated energy drinks, with names like Red Bull, Monster, Full Throttle and Amp, have surged in popularity in the past decade. About a third of 12-to 24-year-olds say they regularly down energy drinks, which account for more than $3 billion in annual sales in the United States.
The trend has been the source of growing concern among health researchers and school officials. Around the country, the drinks have been linked with reports of nausea, abnormal heart rhythms and emergency room visits.

In Colorado Springs, several high school students last year became ill after drinking Spike Shooter, a high-caffeine drink, prompting the principal to ban the beverages. In March, four middle school students in Broward County, Fla., went to the emergency room with heart palpitations and sweating after drinking the energy beverage Redline. In Tigard, Ore., teachers this month sent parents e-mail alerting them that students who brought energy drinks to school were “literally drunk on a caffeine buzz or falling off a caffeine crash.”
New research suggests the drinks are associated with a health issue far more worrisome than the jittery effects of caffeine — risk taking. "

People may hear that men who consume energy drinks more then once a day starting out at a young age, will decrease their sperm count by 10 % or more.
Well the population now today has gotten a little large,if people want to lose the ability to reproduce and procreate then let them do so.

But I for one are not going to be one the many people in the world( Even though im a girl) who looses the ability to have kids. I know what is right and what is wrong to put into my body, but I don't think that someone needs some special drink to boost their mobility for the day.

Anonymously Alice

Thanks for the work of the anonymous writer of the book called " Go Ask Alice" I find the book to be in my sense of words liking, not only liking but this book describes the life of a young teen in very grafic detail. No im not crazy. Just this is a book, where the truth is told and there are not lies to cover up fact from fiction. For those who have never come across the book or have ever been refered to it by a parent, have no clue what I am saying.

Go Ask Alice is a controversial 1971 book about the life of a troubled teenage girl that is considered a classic of American young adult literature. The book purports to be the actual diary of an anonymous teenage girl who died of a drug overdose in the late 1960s and is therefore presented as a testimony against drug use. Alice is not the protagonist's name; the actual diarist's name is never given in the book. A woman named Alice is mentioned briefly in one entry during the diarist's stay in Denver; she is a fellow addict the diarist meets on the street. Despite this, reviewers generally refer to the diarist as "Alice" for the sake of convenience[citation needed].

Alice is not the name of the real writer of this book. For it's millions of readers, the real name will never been known. Hence the author of this book is depicted as Anonymous, because it's not known either of who found the diary and actually published it. If you happen to find yourself picking up this delicate piece of work, you will also see that the real names of people and places have been changed to protect those who have had or had any ossociation with this girl.

I haven't really clue as to why I have been one to read this over and over. It's like reading the book or watching the movie called " The virgin suicides" or the book called" The lovely bones" by the author alice sebold. If you like suspense and drama and you want to know what happens next, and you can't either not read it,or cant stop reading it. That is me.

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

So today when I was watching tv and scanning the channels to find something more interesting, I came across this tv advertisment for the new show called" Little Miss Perfect".

"Little Miss Perfect is a journey into the world of children's pageants. Each episode follows two families as they practice and primp—all leading up to the stress and joy of competing for the title Little Miss Perfect. Featuring Michael Galanes, national pageant director for more than 10 years."

One would wonder about this show and why mothers choose to do what they do to their young children, but in all perscpective,I don't think the moms know what they are doing either. I have nothing against beauty pageants, but when you dress your 5 year old to look like this

You wonder how far the mothers of these children would go.

Only in moderation,to enter your child into a beauty pageant, without looking 25 years old and all the glits and glammer is ok. Just wanting to show people that your daughter is cute, and you can put her into a little sun dress without it being an overload is fine.

But why make kids look like they are older than they seem. To get my point across what I am trying to say is. Let your children be young. Don't subject them to a life that is way beyond their years. There isn't a reason why mothers need to dress their girls up in fancy dresses, packing their faces up with tons on makeup that is thick like bricks and curl their hair all fancy. What point are you trying to prove to society by doing this?

Are the moms bored with their children so they think that they have do enter them into a world of harshness and criticism. If your body isn't perfect what are you doing to do? It's like the modeling industry. You have people telling you what to do all the time and they constantly run your life. They want you to be skinny and good looking and if not you are considered fat.

I would like to understand what makes mothers of these children go to such lengths. If not then I will never know, but I can't make heads or tails of it right now anyways. As a soon to be mom, I couldn't bear or stand the idea of putting makeup on my little girls face to make her look older that she seems. Let the little girls be young and innocent little girls for a while, and while you have the chance to see them grow up. If they wanna play with dolls or play teatime let them do it,and if they wanna play in the mud and make a mess to where they have to take a bath to get it all off, so be it. They just wanna have fun,so let them.

Here is a document that I found describing beauty pageants and what they are.

"Types of Beauty pageants
Beauty pageants or beauty contests are competitions or programs meant for adults, teens, and children. Beauty pageants are competition and performances that are wildly popular cultural events world-wide.. There are baby beauty pageants, teen beauty pageants and adult beauty pageants. These competitions are primarily on the physical or outer beauty of its contestants along with the contestants.. A beauty pageant does not only focus on physical appearance of the contestants but also on the overall personality, talent, confidence, emotional, social, analytical and mental skills. Most of the beauty pageants also have a question and answers session as one of the judged criteria. Sometimes there are many prizes for the winner.
Most times there are separate beauty pageants for men and women held as separate events. Some of the most common beauty pageants for women are Miss Universe, Miss World, and the winners of which are called beauty queens. These beauty pageants usually occur once a year, and are usually live on stage. On the other hand, beauty contests for men, are more like a personality contest or a "body building" contest like Mr. Universe, Mr. World or Manhunt International that judge the natural physical attributes of the contestants as well as their physiques. These include Mr. World and Manhunt International. Some of the celebrity magazines and a host of retailers of everything from tiaras to cosmetic surgery, sponsor and support the organizing of many local and regional beauty pageants for all ages for promotion and profit.
Baby beauty pageants are judged on the basis of cute or just comical expressions of the baby, their eyes, nose, rosy cheeks which are then displayed for votes and for the review of judges. These kinds of pageants are usually supported or sponsored baby food or baby clothing businesses. On the other hand a teen beauty pageant is held for both, boys and girls who are generally hip, cool, natural looking, have great grades, or even great skin, a valuable hobby or care for the environment. Sometimes, scholarships, money, cars, and prizes are given away for those involved in teen beauty pageants.
There are many different types of beauty pageants held every year, including, muscle builder's pageants, bikini contests, photogenic pageants. These title holders, are chosen on many criteria like whether they cute, beautiful, funny, comical, daring, outrageous and so on. There are on-line beauty pageants too, wherein a winner is selected on a monthly or even weekly basis"

When people are in pain, they have that slight tendency to become moody, cranky and mean. Over the last week and half starting for me,I have woken up feeling like someone has taken a baseball bat to me in the middle of the night and enjoyed doing it. My once comfortable bed that I could sleep hours in has turned against me and started hating my body, making it hard for me to sleep,I don't find it enjoying anymore one bit. That and just being pregnant all together is what is doing it. So im cranky!

I guess when someone had said the miserable stage of pregnancy was indeed the miserable last agonizing stage, that they were not lying, although I bet some of us woman wish that someone should have. The stabbing pains in your hips and back when you roll over in the morning to get out of bed( If you get out of bed) makes me want to spit teeth. It must be from all the weight gain and the belly I have put on. But alas it is something that I must like all women in the world that choose to procreate, must deal with and suffer.

There are many great things that come from dealing with pain. You must think I am crazy to say this, but being in pain while your pregnant is a great thing too.It shows that someone worked hard to bring a little innocent and cute wonderful baby into this world.

There are times that I can say that I wish that I wasn't pregnant anymore, because I find the wait now to be insufferable or to long.I just want my baby here already! Having the waddle around the house walk while your hips are in pain, the endless sleep at night from turing over and finding that when you lay on your side, your baby isn't happy that mama is and decided to kick you and make you move, and when you do they do it again to the other side. But I wouldn't trade the feelings I am having in my body for anything in the world. My baby girl isn't even here yet and I love her with all my heart.

Its hard to describe how it is to be pregnant because each person is different when it comes to the 9 month wait.

For me being pregnant is the greatest thing in the world. When I was a little girl I would dream of the day when I would be carrying my first child, a little baby inside of me. I know what it feels like now. The changes in your body to come are tremendous and there are a lot of them. From finding out you are pregnant,to watching your body grow. Over almost the last 9 months of pregnancy I have become different. From knowing I was pregnant before I found out,the sickness I would have, just to even eat toast. Being really tired for no reason and moody, that if someone even said something to me that was negative I would cry and get upset.
But I prepared myself for what was to come. I would get so mad at the fact my pants stopped fitting me so I would have to wear them shut with a rubber band to keep them closed, eventually I got maternity pants and went from smalls to larges in the last 7 months. I thought I wouldn't have to worry about shirts right away and I didn't until the last few months, when even my maternity shirts that I wore all the time stopped fitting me too.

I watched my belly starting to slowly poke out around 15 weeks. It was so cute! I thought to myself, that is my little baby growing outwards. Feeling the first little nudges to now the big kicks she gives me because there isn't that much room anymore for her to have play time. She must be mad at mommy.

But I can say that even though I sometimes am miserable. It's worth the great experience.

Discipline don'ts says resource from Parents Magazine

Arh! Your kid made a huge mess in the kitchen trying to make her own breakfast(again). Or maybe she's playing bedtime ping-pong for the umpteenth time this week-running to you every five minuets asking for a drink a glass of water, another story, more cuddle time.. These behaviors are frustrating but normal for a child. Maybe you think a time out or a stern talking to will solve the problem but here is a thought. What you see as bad behavior is often completely reasonable depending on the child's developmental stage."Many parents are too quick to discipline their child when what they really need is understanding and encouragement" says Parents advisor Michele Borba, Ed,D., Author of 12 Simple Secrets Real Moms Know. " They're Young, they're clumsy and they don't know how to do everything yet. It's your job to teach them."

We outline three scenarios in which discipline is not the answer and tell you how to handle them effectively while keeping your cool.

1- He dropped the milk carton.

While you raced around trying to get everyone out the door, your preschooler decided to try and make his own breakfast cereal all by himself. The result: Major spillage and extra 15 minuets spent mopping up, changing his clothes and making breakfast number
He just wants to be indendent. By age 3 children want to try to do things for themselves, don't be so harsh on them and don't cry over spilt milk,it just happens.

2- She wets the bed several times a week.

It's 2 am and you're tired ,cranky and up( again) changing sheets and digging out clean pajamas for your little one. She sleeps to soundly to feel the urge to go pee. Children are not like adults that when they have to go to the bathroom is sends a message to the brain telling them to get up. If you're cranky towards your child when you have to get up and change their sheets, it's not because she wet the bed on purpose. Just accidents happen.

3-She resists going to bed everynight.

Bedtime is taking forever because your three year old please for just one more story( half a dozen times); Insists you check the closet, under the bed and in every bureau drawer for monsters: and leaves her bed no fewer then seven times a night after lights out. She is afraid to be left alone in the dark . It's easy to feel manipulated when your child keeps finding creative ways to stall bedtime, but it's common for preschoolers to experience nighttime fears.

The myths of pregnancy

You have heard the sayings about if you step on a crack you will break your mommas back.
Or having a black cat cross your pass will curse you, plus you have the ladder myth or 7 years of bad luck from breaking a mirror.

Well I guess im going to have bad luck because I have thrown and shattered many mirror. But do you also know that there are pregnancy myths too.

The Spicy Food FraudSpicy food will bring on labor.- hahaha yeah right, I haven eaten spicy food so far through out my pregnancy and im not in labor. If anything, eating spicy food while you are pregnant will only cause heartburn.

The Fetal Heart Rate FallacyIf your baby's heart is low, you're carrying a boy. If it's high, it's a girl. - Nothing can determin the sex of your baby except the genetic material from your partners sperm. People carry in many different positions because of how the placenta is,the way the baby is laying or just how you grow.

The You-Can't-Be-Too Careful Yarn .If a pregnant woman raises her hands above her head, she'll choke her baby. - Please, let me smack the idiot who said this.

The Steamy Sex Superstition
Making mad, passionate love will induce labor. " No it has been proven that making love with your partner will not cause labor. Baby will come when baby wants to come out. All sex does while being pregnant, not only makes you feel relaxed and comfortable,it lulls your baby to sleep.

The Old Heartburn Harangue ,if a pregnant woman has frequent heartburn, her baby will have a full head of hair. - Read the spicy food myth. Plus nothing you eat will determine your babys hair. I was born bald,go figure.

The Sty-in-the-Eye-LieThose who deny a pregnant woman the food she craves will get a sty in their eye. - Funny myth, but not. Styes are just caused my bacteria. I would know,I have had one while being pregnant,it hurts, but not because I was denied food.

So there you have it.

Looks are deceiving

That saying has a strong meaning.

Going through out my pregnancy I never really had bad stretch marks until I started to get larger. They are not on my stomach like most people exspect them to be,no. That is odd that I don't, but they are in other places.

I have small ones on my arms. But they are mostly located in the leg area in the very back and going down my hips. I put stretch mark cream on everyday when I get dressed or get out of the shower. But last night looking in the mirror,I was in awe when I looked at my backside. There were pink and purple lines going down from the top of my tail bone, down to the calf of my leg. I NEVER noticed them before. They must have came up upon me during the middle of the night while I was sleeping.

When I was younger. I would see my mom with her stretch marks on her tummy and I would always ask her where she had got them. She told me that she had gotten them when she was pregnant with my sister and I. I hear women say that stretch marks are ugly and if they could get rid of them they would. Well they are not something that you can get rid of,unless by some miracle you find a great plastic surgeon or they blend into your skin. No, women will get them no matter how much they complain, because that is the way that god created our bodies to be. He created us to get stretch marks. Not only women but men to,its a growth factor also.

I used to think about the future when I was little and when I would be pregnant for the first time and have my own child. I also knew that going through the whole 9 month procedure I would accumulate these lines of purple. In my own opinion, I think stretch marks are cool. They show that a woman went through pain the bring a little baby into this world and also they worked hard. I don't think I would ever get rid of mine. Just because it is a branded mark, doesn't mean that they're ugly.

Looking around and see all the stuff that is accumulating in our house where I live. It would mostly be others peoples stuff that we have in storage down in our basement. Besides sean and I's stuff that is being stored until we move. Most of it is from other people who have moved in and left (without) taking their crap. Not only is it pissing me off because I can't walk downstairs anymore with out stubbing my toe on something,or weaving my way around stuff,it is also making my grandparents mad as well.

The thing I see the most that is irritating is the fact that if you were to light a match and take it to my grandpas computer room, the house would be in ashes in less then 1 min because of all the mail that is lying around in piles, that has been read and not thrown away. COME ON! who collects mail and leaves it around. On the tables, bar area, living room tables and anywhere else you can think of he sticks it.

Im going to get a mail box or a trash can and stick it in their for him to find. I have never seen anyone more obsessed with mail than him.

When I get my own house. I am going to keep it spit spot clean because if you don't know how I am. I like things neat and in order where I can find them and not in a mess.

Ughh!

Dazed

I find myself more and more dazed each day with things that preparing to come and things that are happening.
I don't sleep at night anymore. I don't know why. I can't fall asleep, something in my head is keeping me from enjoying nice dreams or feeling rested. It isn't the fact that my baby is kicking me all the time or sticking her feet out to where I can feel then if need be. But things on my mind that have me confused.

When I was younger I was the opposite. I would go to sleep early and wake up early and I was the only one that did this. When I first got pregnant I would sleep all the time. No matter what time it was of the day I was either in bed or on the couch trying to catch some z's. It changed a few months later on that when people in the morning were awake at 7 I would get up.

But now I go to bed late at night and wake up really early. Nights are my escape from the day to day things that have happened. I have time for myself to be alone in my room and just think. Watch tv and relax on my bed.
It's not because I feel alone. Yes I have that tendency to feel that way from time to time, but not constantly.

It may be because I just realized how much I miss sean now that is in korea, half way around the world away from me,and I worry about him and I want him to be safe.

I just don't know what is wrong with me.....

Good morning to all. I can remember days when I would up this early at home doing nothing, because all I wanted to do was look outside and see the sunrise up. It isnt to light but not to dark,so this is a perfect time of day for me.

A few years ago and even last year I was sitting at school staring out the windows, wishing that I had freedom instead of being stuck behind these walls in which I thought were jail walls! I wanted to go outside and be free to roam around. You know how it looks when the season is starting to turn sunny and spring like. With the tree blooming and all the green coming in,and I wanted to do was run.

I have that freedom now. I stay home everyday from now on,because 1- I finished my school work at my school and 2- My baby will be arriving in 2 months.
I think today is going to be a good day then it was yesterday. I am hoping today will be a good day with me and I wont be crying or upset anymore.
We will see

How does this sound for a first date..sure glad this wasnt mine!

WORST FIRST DATE STORY EVER

If you didn't see this on the Tonight show, I hope you're sitting down When you read it. This is probably the funniest date story ever, first Date or not!!! We have all had bad dates but this takes the cake. Jay Leno went into the audience to find the most embarrassing first date That a woman ever had. The winner described her worst first date Experience. There was absolutely no question as to why her tale took the prize! She said it was midwinter...Snowing and quite cold... And the guy had Taken her skiing in the mountains outside Salt Lake City , Utah . It was a day trip (no overnight). They were strangers, after all, and had Never met before. The outing was fun but relatively uneventful until they Were headed home late that afternoon. They were driving back down the mountain, when she gradually began to Realize that she should not have had that extra latte. They were about an Hour away from anywhere with a rest room and in the middle of nowhere! Her companion suggested she try to hold it, which she did for a while. Unfortunately, because of the heavy snow and slow going, there came a Point where she told him that he had better stop and let her go beside The road, or it would be the front seat of his car They stopped and she quickly crawled out beside the car, yanked her pants Down and started. In the deep snow she didn't have good footing, so she Let her butt rest against the rear fender to steady herself. Her Companion stood on the side of the car watching for traffic and indeed Was a real gentleman and refrained from peeking. All she could think About was the relief she felt despite the rather embarrassing nature of The situation. Upon finishing however, she soon became aware of another sensation. As She bent to pull up her pants, the young lady discovered her buttocks Were firmly glued against the car's fender. Thoughts of tongues frozen to Poles immediately came to mind as she attempted to disengage her flesh >From the icy metal. It was quickly apparent that she had a brand new Problem, due to the extreme cold. Horrified by her plight and yet aware of the humor of the moment, she Answered her date's concerns about' what is taking so long' with a reply That indeed, she was 'freezing her butt off' and in need of some Assistance! He came around the car as she tried to cover herself with her Sweater and then, as she looked imploringly into his eyes, he burst out Laughing. She too, got the giggles and when they finally managed to Compose themselves, they assessed her dilemma. Obviously, as hysterical as the situation was, they also were faced with A real problem. Both agreed it would take something hot to free her chilly cheeks from The grip of the icy metal! Thinking about what had gotten her into the Predicament in the first place, both quickly realized that there was only One way to get her free. So, as she looked the other way, her first time Date proceeded to unzip his pants and pee her butt off the fender. As the audience screamed in laughter, she took the Tonight Show prize Hands down.. Or perhaps that should be 'pants down. 'And you thought your First date was embarrassing. Jay Leno's comment...'This gives a whole new meaning to being pissed off.' Oh and how did the first date turn out? He became her husband and was Sitting next to her on the Leno show.

The cost of love.

Valentine's Day or Saint Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14 by many people throughout the world. In the West, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.
An alternative theory from
Belarus states that the holiday originates from the story of Saint Valentine, who upon rejection by his mistress was so heartbroken that he took a knife to his chest and sent her his still-beating heart as a token of his undying love for her. Hence, heart-shaped cards are now sent as a tribute to his overwhelming passion and suffering. [1]
The day is most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of "valentines." Modern Valentine symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged
Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten notes have largely given way to mass-produced greeting cards.[2] The sending of Valentines was a fashion in nineteenth-century Great Britain, and, in 1847, Esther Howland developed a successful business in her Worcester, Massachusetts home with hand-made Valentine cards based on British models. The popularity of Valentine cards in 19th-century America was a harbinger of the future commercialization of holidays in the United States.
Every year ever since my Husband and I have been toghether we have celebrated the holiday Valentines day, because we had each other to celebreate it with. But this year is going to be a little bit different for me,since many of you know that my husband is away on military leave.
What made me think about posting this topic was,all the stuff that the stores have stocked on their shelves to celebrate this holiday. The candy and chocolate, stuffed bears, cards and just about everything you can think of that you that you want to give to your significant other.
But I can see that people sometimes have a tendency to go over board on valentines day, spend way to much money on useless stuff that people dont need. And what I mean by that is every single thing in the store being bought out. I know I saw this at my school when I was there every valentines day. Girls were sent dozens or more of roses, big stuffed animals ,candy and what not. That is way to much to send someone, because money doesnt by happiness. Wouldnt something small and simple do to make someone feel loved. I know that is how I feel.
Last year, on february first, for my friends who dont know this, I had surgery in my mouth. I had all my wisdom teeth removed, and had a hard time eating so I wasnt in the mood for valentines day,but had the day made up to me by my Husband(who was my fiance at the time) who took me out to a nice dinner, with just a simple boquet of red roses. This was the most sweetest thing that I could ever get.
I have my Husbands love this year. So I dont really need or want anything.Yes I am little bummed that he isnt here to share a hug and a kiss with, but his love that he is giving me is enough, plus the soon arrival of our daughters birth is the best gift that I can have also.
So my point is of this topic is that, dont go spending hundreds of dollars on stuffed animals or boxes of chocoalets when the best present of all you can give someone is love.

Say it aint so

Has anyone ever really noticed there are few certain products that medicine cannot improve on,and they are usualy located right in your own home. My grandma was talking with me yesterday and this topic was brought up when I had told her I had a canker sore.

Back then before there were antobiotics to cure people of their sickness, and pain medicine to take away their pain, they delt with it old fashion way, grin and bear it.

But these 3 things, were always around and commonly used and still are today.

1-Baking Soda
2- Aspirin
3-Alcohol

Aspirin couldn't be found in the pill form like it is now. Where it was found was the bark and the leaves of the willow tree. To get its full effect, the bark or the leaves were soaked in water and the person who was suffering would drink it.
Aspirin also has an antiplatelet, or "anti-clotting", effect and is used in long-term, low doses to prevent heart attacks, strokes and blood clot formation in people at high risk for developing blood clots.[1] It has also been established that low doses of aspirin may be given immediately after a heart attack to reduce the risk of another heart attack or of the death of cardiac tissue

Didnt know that did you.

Baking Soda- I use it to treat my canker sores in my mouth when I have them, it usualy works as a counteract to prevent the spreading of acid to other parts of your mouth ,forming more sores. It also helps the acid in the wound diminish.

Alcohol- Not just a item you can drink now today to get a buzz off of or get drunk. It served a purpose before people started abusing the power to drink it.

Alcohol was used in medicinal purposes when there wasnt anything else to help cope with the pain.Like when someone had been bitten by a snake or when bones needed to be set.

Now you will see most alcohol that is used for medicinal purposes in cough syrups and elixirs, not the average bottle of whiskey or rum anymore. That is so outdated. But for most people who are non alcoholic drinkers because of their religion. Will only use alcohol as medicinal purposes, but still that might not happen.

Whats not new

So today was my 3 week check up,I have to start going every two weeks starting today, since I am almost due in my pregnancy.
There was some good news and then there was some news that made me feel a little sad.
The good news was that I do not have gestational diabetes like I was tested for on the 6th of January. But I am hypoglycemic, which means I have to eat MORE then 5 times a day now. I have gained 22 pounds all togehter and 9 pounds this month since the 6th.

I had a glass of milk a few weeks ago and it made me sick,so I was thinking that maybe the milk was bad and I didnt know it. I got over the upset stomach that it caused me the next day,but it wasnt bad milk, turns out I am just lactose intolerant now to everything except two things and that is dannon activia immunity drinks and cheese. Ice cream, milk, yogurt, sourcream cottage cheese, anything dairy except those two items I mentioned. I cannot have.

Plus I have to cut citrus out. I dont have a problem getting rid of lemons since I am allergic to them anyways, but orange juice, oranges, limes, grapefruits, tomatoes, and anything that involes citrus I cannot have,it causes sores on my face and in my mouth real quick. Bye Bye orange juice :'(

But other than that I am fine, The baby is good and healthy, but she just kicks mommy a lot.

What an eye sore

I thought maybe I had ripped some eye lashes out the other night when I was taking of my mascara. But I guess I didn't because I woke up yesterday morning with my eye hurting on the top lid where my eye lashes grow out. Turns out I have something called a stye. I have heard about them before, but I didnt know what they were.
I can say that it hurts. I looked it up and this is what I found out about them.

A stye is an infection of the sebaceous glands at the base of the eyelashes.

No wonder it hurts and feel swollen,I don't ever want to get one again. I just keep putting hot packs on it,to make it feel better.
